PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH SPINE SURGERY|
Dr. Fishman is no stranger to pain, having suffered for many years from pinched nerve pain in his lumbar spine radiating down the leg (healed with epidural steroid injections, time, yoga, and self-care). He also suffered a disc herniation in his neck requiring decompressive surgery. Dr. Fishman is not just an interventional pain physician, but has experienced severe nerve pain himself.

Over the course of a year or so, he developed pain, numbness, and weakness in his arm. After some successful epidural steroid injections (what is a successful epidural steroid injection? – ask me!), his symptoms worsened dramatically to include persistent pain and weakness. Dr. Fishman’s MRI is below, showing a lateral disc herniation at C6-7 (check out his MRI image). He couldn’t button the buttons on his shirt, and ultimately had surgery that allowed for complete resolution of his symptoms.

Tell Dr. Fishman and his team your story, so we can try and figure out how to separate pain from suffering, and provide you the accurate diagnosis and treatment you deserve.
